Cardi B is getting into the beauty business.
The “Up” rapper has filed a trademark application for the rights to the phrase “Bardi Beauty,” which she intends to use for a makeup and beauty line.
According to legal documents, obtained by TMZ, potential Bardi Beauty products include cosmetics, fragrances, hair care, skin care, nail polish, and nail polish.
The trademark was filed by her company, Washpoppin Inc., on April 16, and Cardi signed the documents with her real name, Belcalis Almanzar. The Bardi Beauty brand is in its early stages of approval and it is unclear when it plans to launch the brand.
While the trademark may be new, the idea is not. Cardi has been working at a beauty brand for at least two years. “It’s something I want to do,” he told “ET” in May 2019.
This will be Cardi’s first foray into the world of beauty, but she has partnered with companies like Fashion Nova and Reebok on her own collections, which have proven to be hot sellers.
Cardi will face competition from her fellow celebrities. Rihanna, Kim Kardashian, Kylie Jenner, and Lady Gaga have their own successful beauty lines.
