Las Vegas police announced Monday that they have opened an assault and battery investigation, a few days after a video clip emerged showing rapper Cardi B throwing a microphone through which she was singing to her fans during a concert.

And the video clip, which was widely circulated on the communication sites, shows the owner of the songs “Wap” and “Many”, throwing the microphone at a woman who was among the attendees, after the latter threw a drink at her that she was drinking.

And this woman appears in the video clips as she apologizes after the intervention of the security men, while the microphone reached another person from those present, according to what appeared in other clips.

After the party, Las Vegas police reported that a woman had contacted them to report an assault.

“The victim indicated that she was present at a singing event on July 29, 2023 at the 3500 complex of Las Vegas Boulevard. During a concert, she was hit by an object thrown from the stage,” the police said in a statement received by US media.

The police statement did not mention Cardi B’s name, but the date and location mentioned match her party.

This is not the first time that similar incidents have been recorded, with objects being thrown more and more during concerts.

In June, a man threw a phone at singer Bebe Rexha during a concert in New York, causing her to be hospitalized.

In the same month, singer Pink was targeted at a party in London by a spectator who threw a bag at her, which he said contained the remains of his mother.
