Cardano DEX SundaeSwap Launches, Network Is Immediately Overloaded » Crypto Insiders

The long-awaited decentralized exchange (DEX) SundaeSwap is finally on it Cardano (THERE IS) mainnet launched. And as expected users immediately encountered congestion on the network, causing some orders to take hours to arrive. However, there will be a possible solution in the short term.

Cardano DEX SundaeSwap Launches

SundaeSwap has been in development for a long time but on January 15th announced the project then finally to launch on the Cardano mainnet. The price of cardano responded positively at that time, resulting in an increase of more than 30%. But that momentum has leveled off in recent days.

In addition, the issues SundaeSwap is currently facing will also not contribute to positive momentum for ADA. The final launch took place yesterday at 22:45 Dutch time. From then on, users will be able to use the platform, which offers all the bells and whistles of a real DEX like Uniswap.

Cardano network at full speed

The direct result of the launch was that many users started working immediately. While the Cardano network was already running at full capacity at the time, the extra load caused transactions to be delayed. There are reports here and there that transactions take four hours to complete. As mentioned, the problems were already foreseen and users were warned by SundaeSwap itself, among others, in the run-up to the launch. SundaeSwap CEO Mateen Motavaf emphasized in capital letters yesterday:

“IF YOUR ORDER IS ON-CHAIN IT WILL BE PROCESSED
ORDERS FAILED DUE TO CONGESTION, PLEASE BE PATIENT”

Improvement coming

It is important to mention that the network is still running, but transactions are therefore delayed. The Cardano network is expected to scale up in the short term. For example, on January 25 there will be an adjustment to the network parameters, Input Output announced yesterday:

In a ask-me-anything (AMA) session yesterday, the SundaeSwap team said this change could double transaction throughput:

“Once the change occurs on the 25th, we expect a more than 2x throughput increase from just the memory consumption adjustment per se, as additional protocol parameters become available.”
