VIVA – Advances in technology have made instant messaging services more accessible and fast, and are considered free.
However, there are concerns behind it all. As known, carbon emission is still a big problem in the world. Carbon footprint will cause a series of negative impacts on nature.
Some of them are droughts, reduced sources of clean water, extreme weather, and natural disasters.
Quoting the website of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia, the carbon footprint is the amount of carbon or gas emissions produced from various human activities or activities over a certain period of time.
Various daily activities that cause an increase in the carbon footprint in nature, for example the use of fossil fuels, motor vehicle pollution, excessive use of electrical energy and water, and so on.
At a glance, between electronic mail or email and the carbon footprint released into nature does indeed seem unrelated.
However, in fact the two have a causal relationship. Simply put, in order to be able to send email from a laptop or cell phone, it also requires electrical energy so that the device can turn on.
