Techno live – Just imagine that in the future the soap that is used daily turns out to be produced by air pollution. Or vodka made from emissions. Truth be told, it could all happen soon.
As is known, the world must eliminate a billion tons CO2 until 2025 to reach the Paris climate agreement. German company Covestro claims it can turn CO2 into a feedstock that can be used for anything.
For example, mattresses, medical equipment, socks, athletic shoes, car seats, phone cases, wall coverings, even floors.
It sounds, really, good. But will this have a serious impact on our CO2 levels? And how is the look carbon dioxide recycled?
Efforts to store carbon dioxide have been around for decades. In the 1970s, oil companies used emissions to pump CO2 into wells to improve oil quality.
We can also change the pollutant gas and place it in the ground using the technology Carbon capture and use or CCU. Now this technology is on the rise.
