A meeting of the Climate Change Council was held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in which the Chief Ministers of the four provinces participated in the meeting through video link.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while protesting the abuses of the province by the federal government, said that the federal government wants to seize the carbon credit of the province, the carbon credit is the right and asset of the province and its seizure is not acceptable.
He said that we will protect the rights, resources and people of the province at any cost, 45 percent of the country’s forests are in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 50 percent of the country’s total carbon credit is generated by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The people have the right.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur further said that 80% of the forests in the province are privately owned.
