Carabobo firefighters control fire at former Good Year plant

After almost 12 hours of work, they managed to contain a fire that affected six sheds this Saturday from the warehouses of the company Black Eagle CA, formerly Good Year, located on the Valencia-Los Guayos national highway.

This was reported by Colonel Lino Pérez, president of the Integrated Civil Protection and Fire System of the Carabobo state, who detailed that at approximately 3:12 in the morning the fire alert was received at the facilities of this company.

He pointed out that after noon this Saturday, the deployed commissions managed to carry out the cooling and containment work, keeping an approximate area of ​​8,000 m2 free of combustion, after being affected by six sheds in which raw material, pigments and synthetic polymers are stored for the manufacture of rubbers.

“The fire remains contained in the southern area of ​​the company, after positioning three combat fronts in the northern, eastern and southern areas of the burned area, in order to quell this igneous phenomenon,” Pérez said.

In this context, he explained that a mixed device made up of 171 professionals from the Carabobo Fire, Valencia, Guacara, San Diego, Los Guayos, Aeronautical Fire, Aragua Fire, UC Firefighters participated in the control of the incident. , Diego Ibarra Firefighters, Civil Protection officials; Emergency Brigades PDVSA Yagua, Emergency Brigade of the El Palito Refinery; GNB; Barrio Nuevo, Barrio Tricolor, Cruz Roja; Dgcim and Sebin.
