Car wash workers steal jewelry from customer’s car



Romano A. (40) and 29-year-old Regecillio M. were traced and arrested by the police of the Uitvlugt office on Thursday 14 October. The two suspects who work at a car wash at an address in the police district are suspected of having removed jewelry from a customer from his vehicle, the Suriname Police Force reported today.

The injured party reported the theft to the police. According to the declarant, he brought his car to the car wash on Monday 11 October for cleaning. While cleaning his vehicle, workers took his gold finger ring and necklace from his car.

Romano and Regecillio were arrested during an investigation. The two suspects told the police that they sold the jewelry. Work is underway to locate and arrest the handler. After coordination with the Surinamese Public Prosecution Service, both suspects were detained by the police, reports the police.
