This car balanced on the edge of a cliff and could have ended up in a river in Haugesund on Friday evening.

– The fire service responds to a report of a traffic accident on Tittelnesvegen. Two cars are involved, danger of the car going into the river as it has gone through the guardrail, wrote 110 Sør-Vest on X at 18.07.
Sebastian, who is in his 20s, tells VG that he was out driving when the car in front of him suddenly stopped:
– I started to brake, but couldn’t, so I drove onto the pavement and ended up right next to the car in front. Then a few seconds pass before it suddenly bangs. I look to the right, and see the car that suddenly hangs over the edge.
Sebastian says that the car that came behind crashed into his car, before it sailed into a fence and over the edge.
– I put on my hazard lights and got out, and then we pulled out those who were inside the car. They were in shock and eventually got into an ambulance. There was a river below, and people talked about it being quite deep, says Sebastian, and estimates that there was a drop of around four meters down to the river.
– They had guardian angels, says Sebastian.
He himself came away from the incident unscathed, and his car itself escaped with some broken plastic parts and a broken taillight.
Operations manager Brit Randulf confirms to VG that Sebastian’s explanation matches the one the police have received.
According to the police X report, three people were involved, two of whom were taken to the emergency department for a check-up.
– The car that ended up partially on the guardrail is unstable and is strapped down. There are no people in the car, the police wrote on X at 18.27.
Operations manager Randulff says that no driver’s license should have been confiscated in connection with the incident.
– It must have been quite smooth on the spot, says Randulff, before she continues her watch on an otherwise very hectic evening in the district.
