The car fire happened at Assurtjernkrysset by Langhus. The burning car drove in the direction of Oslo.
– The fire has been extinguished. The car has started to burn at speed, but the driver managed to turn off the road and the car is now on the shoulder of the road. It is totally burnt out, says operations manager Finn Håvard Aas in the Eastern police district to VG.
The police report some traffic delays at the site.

No people were injured in the car fire.
– We saw that a flame ball came up. Almost like an explosion, says a tipper who wishes to remain anonymous to VG.
He further says that there were many civilian cars that stopped and wanted to help.
