Car sales in Europe fell 22 percent this year

In February alone, new registrations fell by 19.3 percent to 771,486 vehicles. This is the lowest February issue since 2013.

The four largest European markets also recorded a significant decline in February. Sales of new cars fell by 38.4 percent in Spain, 20.9 percent in France, 20.9 percent in Germany and 12.3 percent in Italy.

In the Czech Republic, sales of new passenger cars fell by 19 percent to 29,481 in the first two months of 2021. In February alone, the decline was 15.5 percent.

While in the first two months of last year in Europe the pandemic did not affect the demand for cars much, this year it is exactly the opposite. Therefore, there is a visible year-on-year decrease.

The sharpest declines occurred last March and April, when a number of factories in the EU stood due to disrupted supply chains. It can therefore be expected that the year-on-year situation will be better in the coming months. However, this does not mean a return to the pre-Jewish level.
