DELFT – An attempt by Rotterdam police officers to check a suspicious car eventually led to a crash in Delft on Saturday evening. Warning shots were also fired. Two passengers have been arrested.

Agents of the Rotterdam Corps saw a car with a French registration number driving on the A16 in front of the Moerdijk Bridge, which is wanted in a criminal case. When they tried to stop the car, the driver immediately fled and a chase ensued.

The moment the driver drove in the opposite direction onto the Delft exit, the car flipped over and crashed. This happened at the intersection of Schoemakerstraat and Mijnbouwstraat. The occupants then ran off.

Warning shots fired
Officers fired warning shots and arrested two of the occupants. One of them was injured and taken to a hospital. A third occupant is still being sought. Dogs and a helicopter were used in the search.
