Britain produced 775,014 cars last year, the lowest level since 1956, reports of Great Britain Association of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).

Compared to 2021, car production in the country decreased by 9.8% last year.
This decline is mainly explained by global semiconductor shortages and structural changes.
The production of cars intended for export in Great Britain decreased by 14% last year, while the production of cars intended for the domestic market increased by 9.4%.
At the same time, the production of electric cars in the country increased by 4.5% last year and reached 234,066 units, which is the highest level ever.
