The American media Bloomberg discusses what was about to cost the German luxury car brand Porsche dearly. Because when the new version of the Porsche model “Panamera” was to be put up for sale in China, the supplier grossly missed the price.
Instead of putting the car up for sale for 998,000 Chinese yuan, it was put up for 124,000 Chinese yuan, which is equivalent to NOK 183,000. In comparison, the price of relatively new Panamera models on Finn is well over a million.
According to Bloomberg, several hundred lightning-quick buyers managed to pull the trigger and buy the car for an eighth of the market price.
Unfortunately for them, and to the great displeasure of many on social media, Porsche withdrew its “offer” and returned the money people had spent. They referred to the blunder as “a serious mistake”.
But at the same time, it may seem as if a lucky buyer got some kind of deal anyway. For a spokesman for the company tells Bloomberg that the first person who pounced on the offer was able to negotiate a “profitable agreement”.
The other buyers received a personal phone call from the German car giant apologizing for the mistake.
