(ANSA) – NAPLES, AUGUST 25 – “We are not in front of an angel flown to heaven but we are in the presence, unfortunately, of one of the many victims of a sick ‘culture’ that doesn’t care about road safety and every day it is up to us to count and mourn the dead”. This is what the deputy of the Green Left Alliance, Francesco Emilio Borrelli, said about the eight-year-old girl who died in the accident of a Smart in the Naples area, who recalls that the driver did not have a license, the car was not insured and there were four people on board instead of the two allowed, one of whom was in the trunk and the little victim in the front, in her mother’s arms. As proof of what he calls a “sick culture”, Borrelli published the video, which was reported to him by some citizens, of a man riding a motorbike with a child lying on the tank, without a helmet and without any protection, through the streets of Monteruscello, a hamlet of Pozzuoli. “There are so many adults, many of them parents – says Borrelli – who adopt crazy behavior on the road, make minors drive, even children, both cars and high-powered motorcycles, expose them to immense dangers, transport them on scooters like packages, without protection, ready to fall at the first pothole they take badly. These are the same adults who then let white balloons fly and cry crocodile tears for innocent deaths. All deaths that could have been avoided”. “In recent years – continues the deputy – we have reported so many parents who have been the protagonists of similar behavior, people who shamelessly filmed these deeds with their cell phones to post them on social media, almost as a trophy, a real hymn to stupidity and ignorance. And as we have seen, it is not enough to withdraw licenses, we need to intervene with more severe laws because a criminal will drive even if his license has been withdrawn, what do you want him to care about these rules”.
