This is the Škoda Enyaq 80. With an 82 kilowatt-hour battery, a 150-kilowatt electric motor, rear-wheel drive, and accessories, it costs € 61,000. In the past, only Škoda racing cars could pay.
“Oh, 453 km with a full battery? I like it! While standing at the red, you can see the salon. In daylight it looks even more elegant. It’s already like some say it looks like the X5, only from Škoda. Brown leather, all its shapes, elegant. The scale panel is absolutely rudimentary. I don’t see anything more than speedometer and line readers there, ”says Normunds Avotiņš.
However, the screen is skillfully integrated into the panel, not screwed to the steering wheel. Very soon, Enyaq will be able to get a head up display with augmented reality images.
“I was worried about what the Enyaq would look like with a 21-inch stroller. They are the biggest you can get. No worries! Apparently the weight of the electric car, or rather the battery, compensates for it, and the suspension is also made to make everything work well. ”
The steering wheel could certainly have been lighter, especially in city traffic.
So much for driving in the city. What will be on the highway?
“Acceleration is not so stormy as it is rising fast. Once moved, the Enyaq rolls easily and accelerates just as easily – even at our current illegal speeds. The maximum speed is 160 km / h. Yes, a fine car. Enyaq has come out almost as an Audi e tron to the people. It is almost like that, only the story is not about the big e-tron, but the small e-tron Q4, ”says Avotiņš.
They have the same platform and technique. Audi is considered more exclusive, but the Enyaq also has double side windows and other features of an expensive car.
“It simply came to our notice then. Charging the large battery with the e-mobile charger took an hour and a half, charging in half or 40 kWh – an hour. It would hardly be the fault of the machine, as Enyaq can tolerate even 125 kilowatt chargers. So you need your own Wallbox or choose a smaller battery, but this will reduce the reach. A full charge from 11 kW Wallbox requires 8.5 hours or 50 km of road per hour. ”
Conclusions
What I like is that the Enyaq fits organically into the Škoda model range. It is not that you get drunk and declare: you, you and you – you can be free, we will continue! This is a cool addition. This gives hope that the transition to electromobility will not take place by leaps and bounds with stress and shock, but by a flood. One day we will just find that it is probably better to take an electric car. Let’s start with Enyaq, and then everything else will follow.
