The Mercedes Vision AVTR, which debuted at CES in 2020, offers visitors an experience they have never experienced before at the ongoing Munich auto show.
The Mercedes Vision AVTR model was developed with brain-computer interfaces (BCI) to help drivers control various functions of the vehicle with their thoughts. The technology, originally developed to assist people with physical disabilities, can read measured brain waves and associate them with a command.
Britta Seeger, Mercedes-Benz Sales Manager, said in a statement about the technology developed, “BCI technology has the potential to further increase driving comfort in the future. The technology works completely independently of speech and any contact. Therefore, it offers revolutionary possibilities for intuitive interaction.” said.
