My colleague would like to transfer his car to his mother but would like to remain the insurance provider.

My question to you is that due to the change of owner, is he still obligated to stay with his current vehicle insurance? Or can he take out a new car insurance by changing the owner.

I ask because when you deregister, car insurance is usually canceled at this time, but I have read that if the owner changes, you have the option of car insurance again.
