Car Injection Indicator On? Check First, Could Be Just A Trivial Problem

Jakarta

Contemporary cars, generally already use the injection system. In this system, vehicle owners can more easily find out errors in the car through the injection indicator or engine check.

As the name implies, this check engine indicator functions to provide a code or notification if there is a problem when the engine performs an independent check.

Reporting from Auto2000, the engine check indicator that lights up continuously on this car is due to a sensor reading something abnormal in the car.

It’s not always a matter of severe damage, it could be some of these things that cause the check engine indicator to light up.

1. Check Battery Condition

When the check engine indicator light is on continuously, it could be that the condition of the car battery needs to be checked or checked.

“You can unplug the negative connector cable on the battery section, then wait at least three seconds. If so, try reattaching the connector to its original position,” wrote Auto2000 explaining the steps to check.

If the check engine light is still on, then the problem is not with the battery. Then we need to examine the other sections.

2. Dirty Air Filter

According to Auto2000, the component of the car that has an error and makes the check engine indicator light up could be coming from a dirty air filter.

In general, the air filter serves to determine the amount of fuel that must be used by the engine. This makes it closely related to mass air flow sensors.

“The air supplied to the combustion chamber will be hampered because the air filter is dirty. Eventually the mass air flow sensor becomes damaged. With this damage, the injection indicator light can automatically light up to give you a warning,” wrote Auto2000.

3. Broken Oxygen Sensor

Another component that might be the source of the check engine indicator lights up is the oxygen sensor.

The oxygen sensor functions to monitor oxygen in the exhaust and see how much fuel needs to be burned.

When this sensor reads that there is an abnormal condition, in the combustion chamber, of course the car will immediately give a warning via a lit check engine indicator.

4. The catalytic converter is damaged

Regarding the oxygen sensor, another thing that can cause the check engine indicator to light up is from a damaged catalytic converter.

“Catalytic converter functions to change carbon monoxide and other substances to be more environmentally friendly,” writes Auto2000.

Not only does the check engine indicator light up, when this component is damaged the car usually feels far more wasteful and has no power even though the gas pedal has been stepped on deeper.

5. Gasoline cover is not tight

The last thing that could make the check engine indicator light up continuously is from a gas cover that is not tight.

Even though it’s trivial, it turns out that in some cars this can make the check engine indicator light come on to give a warning.

“If indeed you have just filled up gas and see the warning light come on, try checking the condition of the gas cap first. Don’t forget to check whether there is a leak or not to avoid unwanted things,” writes Auto2000.
