On Sunday evening, the fire brigade took a person out of a car that ended up in the water in the Eerste Binnenhaven in Vlissingen. It is still unclear whether there were other occupants in the car.
The person was transferred to the hospital. Any other occupants have been searched for but have not been found so far.
At around 11:40 pm a car was reported to the water, after which the Zeeland Safety Region temporarily shut down shipping traffic. A diver from the KNRM found the car and, together with the help of the fire brigade, took an occupant to the side.
The police are still investigating how exactly the car ended up in the water.
