Car Hits 7 People in Versilia, Two Girls Dead

(ANSA) – LIDO DI CAMAIORE (LUCCA), 18 SEPTEMBER – A woman driving a Mercedes hit seven people, causing the instant death of two German girls. The other five people were taken to hospital. This is the result of the accident that occurred shortly after 7 pm in Lido di Camaiore (Lucca). The driver, a 44-year-old Brazilian woman, also ended up in hospital for toxicology tests. The car apparently went through two red lights: at the first it hit and killed the two German girls, born in 2005 and 2006. Then at the second intersection the other pedestrians: among them a sixty-year-old woman taken by helicopter with a red code for multiple trauma to the Cisanello hospital in Pisa. The other people hit were sent to the hospitals in Massa and Versilia. The car stopped after hitting two other cars: the driver got out of the car until the traffic police arrived and took her to the hospital for toxicology tests. (ANSA).
