On August 4th, 2023, a car fire on Freiherr-vom-Stein-Strasse was reported to the control center of the professional fire brigade in Mülheim an der Ruhr at 2:37 p.m. When firefighters arrived, the vehicle was already engulfed in flames. The firefighting was initiated immediately by a respiratory protection team with a rapid attack tube and the vehicle was secured against rolling away. The occupants of the vehicle were already outside the vehicle when emergency services arrived. These were sighted by the emergency doctor present and then transported to a hospital in Oberhausen with suspected smoke intoxication. Freiherr-vom-Stein-Strasse was completely closed for about 30 minutes, resulting in significant traffic disruption.
During the course of the day, the fire brigade responded to 13 fire calls, seven technical assistance services and 41 rescue service calls. (Ttu)
