Car crashes on A2, police discover that there is much more going on

A motorist crashed with his car on the A2 near Leende on Friday night. This happened around a quarter past one. The driver was driving south when he hit the center conductor at Leende. The car then started to spin and eventually came to a stop with its nose pointing in the opposite direction.

The driver was able to get out of the car under his own power. Ambulance officers examined him, but he did not have to go to the hospital.

‘Demineralized water’
While investigating the accident, which did not involve other traffic, officers discovered a jerry can and white plastic container on the adjacent service road. The jerry can had a label that read ‘demineralized water’ for irons. The officers suspected it was drugs. There was also a suspicious substance in the white container next to the jerry can.

The officers believe that the man climbed over the guardrail before emergency services arrived and tried to hide the jerry can and white tray.

Arrest
Officers also searched the man’s car. Items were discovered in it that could be linked to the items on the service road. The driver has been arrested. He was taken to the police station in Eindhoven.

The car was taken by a salvage company. The fire brigade has cleared the debris and cleared the highway. The road inspector of Rijkswaterstaat has engaged a contractor to repair the damaged center conductor.
