Car Crashes into Garage Roof After Driver Steps Out: No Injuries Reported

Just going for a quick trip out of the car – crashed into a garage roof.

At 20:16, the police in the south-east wrote on Twitter about a car that had rolled into a garage roof at Stathelle in Bamble municipality.

Operations leader in the southeast police district, Terje Lunden, states that the driver was not in the car when the incident took place.

– The driver has been out of the car for a quick trip, and then the car has started to roll. It has rolled over curbs and down a small slope and towards a garage. The handbrake was probably not on, says Lunden.

It was Telemark newspaper who mentioned the matter first.

Atle Storemyr, a witness at the scene, describes the atmosphere in the aftermath of the incident as comical:

– People came to the place to immortalize the moment. It seemed that those on site viewed this with humor. Even the task leader laughed and pulled a smiley face, he says.

There have been no reports that people have been injured.

The extent of the damage to the car and the garage is not yet known.
