A 52-year-old woman was driving a Honda on the L3117 at around 12:40 p.m., the police reported.
According to witnesses, the car “suddenly turned left off the road on a straight road and hit a tree,” said a spokesman.
The crash must have occurred with great force. Photos from the scene of the accident show that the front of the Honda was massively damaged by the impact.

The driver was trapped in the wrecked car. Any help came too late for her, and she died at the scene of the accident from her serious injuries.
After the crash, the L3117 was temporarily fully blocked.
