Car crashed into grandstand at motor show event at Bjerke – several people injured – VG


INJURY: Several people are injured on the ground after the accident.

BJERKEBANEN (VG) Several people are injured after a car crashed into a grandstand during a motor show event at Bjerke in Oslo on Sunday.

Six people have been taken to hospital for further checks, the police inform at 18.52. The six were awake when they were taken to hospital. Additional extent of damage is unknown.

It is not clear how serious the injuries are. One child was taken away by ambulance. The child was conscious, according to VG’s reporter on the spot.

In addition, two adults are injured on the ground. Both are conscious.

The event took place in the parking lot outside Bjerke Trotting Track. The show has been going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

During the motor show, a car backed into the stands and the spectators standing there. The car did not back up at high speed, but enough to destroy the benches in the stands:

According to the police, several injured people must have been reported.

– I do not have an overview of how many are injured. We are working to get the threads together, says operations manager Sven Christian Lie to VG.

In photos from the site, you can see several ambulances and health personnel assisting people. Police arrived at the scene around 6.20pm.

Several children and young people were present during the event.

At least two people are lying on a stretcher and are being cared for by health personnel.

He says it is too early to say what the cause of the crash is.

The motor show is a traveling motor show with, among other things, monster trucks, cars and various shows.

The show has, among other things, been arranged in Sandefjord and Tønsberg earlier this month.
