Car crashed into grandstand at motor show event at Bjerke – four to hospital – VG

INJURY: Several people were injured on the ground after the accident.

BJERKEBANEN (VG) Four people have been taken to hospital after a car crashed into a grandstand during a motor show event at Bjerke in Oslo on Sunday.

Published:

Four people were taken to hospital and one to the emergency room after the incident, the crime watch in the Oslo police district informs VG on Saturday 22.30. Four of the five are slightly injured. The extent of the damage to the last person is unknown, the police say.

The police first reported that six people had been sent to hospital.

The extent of the damage is unknown, but according to the police, there are younger people among the injured.

– There were a number of patients who needed immediate assistance from health resources when we arrived at the site. The injuries are described as serious on some, says police task leader Thomas Broberg.

One child was taken away by ambulance, according to VG’s reporter on the spot. The child was conscious.

Shortly after the incident, VG’s reporter observed two adults lying injured on the ground. Both were conscious.

Police are still working to obtain witness information on the spot.

CRUSHED: The grandstand is clearly broken after the collision with the car.

Around 6.20 pm on Sunday, a car crashed into a grandstand during a motor show event in the parking lot outside Bjerke trotting track in Oslo. The car originally backed up at high speed, but braked before hitting the grandstand.

It is a car that participated in the event, and not a monster truck, which drove into the stands.

The show has been going on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

– Chaotic

Broberg describes the crowd at the place as massive.

– It was chaotic initially, but we are starting to form a good picture of the course of events. We have gathered good witness information on the spot, says the task leader.

MANY: There are large police and ambulance resources at Bjerke.

Broberg says that they have control over all the parties involved, but will not comment on whether the car driver is injured.

Operations Manager Sven Christian Lie tells VG that it is too early to say anything about the cause of the crash. The police are working to map and investigate what has happened. They have cordoned off the area.

DESTROYED: The grandstand on site bears a clear mark after the collision with the car.

In photos from the place, you could see several ambulances and health personnel assisting people. Several children and young people were present during the event.

The motor show is a traveling show with, among other things, monster trucks, cars and various shows. The show has, among other things, been arranged in Sandefjord and Tønsberg earlier this month.
