The event occurred on Carmen Conde street around eight in the afternoon
One of the six minors injured when a car collided with the bench where they were sitting in Azuqueca de Henares will be operated on for non-serious injuries at the Guadalajara General Hospital. Three others have been admitted to the hospital for bruises or small fractures.
This has been pointed out to EFE by sources from the Castilla-La Mancha Health Service, Sescam, about the minors, aged 13 and 14, injured this Friday when a vehicle collided with the bench where they were sitting.
It happened at 7:43 p.m. this Friday on Carmen Conde de Azuqueca de Henares street, according to 112. Due to the collision, five of those six minors were transferred to the Guadalajara General Hospital. Two of them, aged 14, were taken to ICUs, another, aged 13, in a basic life support ambulance, and the remaining two, also aged 13, in a conventional ambulance.
Three minors have been admitted for bruises or small fractures and are under observation and one is going to be operated on for injuries, but not seriously, according to health sources.
Apparently the young people were having chips and soft drinks purchased at a nearby self-service. At the time of making the sale and seeing them leave the premises, the noise of a tremendous impact woke the seller up from his daily tasks. A car had uprooted the bench where the six young people were sitting, ramming them against the brick wall that covered the empty commercial next to the self-service. Some of the minors were even left under the vehicle after the collision.
At the moment the causes of the accident are unknown, although some testimonies collected by Guadalajaradiario.es suggest that it could be a confusion of pedals since the vehicle, it seems, was automatic. It is also pointed out that it was an electric car which, perhaps, could have influenced the fact that young people did not listen to its approach.
