Shortly before 10:00 a.m., there was a collision in the area where Plüddemanngasse meets Waltendorfer Hauptstrasse: A 63-year-old car driver from Graz had been traveling south on Plüddemanngasse out of town when his car entered the intersection with Waltendorfer Hauptstrasse caught the bicycle driver.

The traffic inspection of the Graz police is now looking for witnesses and is asking for information by calling 059133/65-4110.

Blinded by the sun
The 71-year-old was thrown to the ground and remained on the road. Helpers from a following Red Cross vehicle carried out the first aid: The woman was taken to Graz Regional Hospital with life-threatening injuries and is receiving intensive care there.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured and was not under the influence of alcohol. Because the driver of the car was blinded by the sun, he could not provide any precise information about the course of the accident – the police are now looking for witnesses to the accident.
