VOORTHUIZEN – A car and a shovel collided on Tuesday evening around 8:05 PM on the Rijksweg in Voorthuizen. Two guys in a BMW crashed into the back of a small shovel driving on the road and then crashed head-on into a tree. According to officers, neither boy was seriously injured.

The driver of the car probably saw the shovel on the roadway, which was driving with incorrect lighting, too late and hit the rear wheel. The Rijksweg in Voorthuizen is completely closed due to the accident. The fire brigade arrived on scene because the vehicle was possibly on fire. Firefighters did not have to extinguish the car, but they did make the vehicle safe.

A woman in another car narrowly avoided both the car and the flying debris. Both front wheels broke off and came to a stop tens of meters away. The devastation is enormous.

Officers completely closed the highway to traffic. A driver ignored the barrier and ultimately received a ticket. Both vehicles have been towed.
