A car collided with a lamppost at full speed on Thursday evening on Stationsweg in Groningen. After the accident there was an argument and a grim atmosphere. The two occupants were arrested by the police.
The car hit the pole so hard that the pole toppled. The car is very badly damaged.

There were two people in the car, with German registration. Emotions ran high after the accident. Bystanders saw how the two behaved aggressively and got into an argument. The atmosphere became grim, according to eyewitnesses.
The police soon arrested one of the two occupants. The other first got off with a warning, but when he also resisted and behaved aggressively, that man was also arrested and taken to the station. The police floored the man in order to calm him down.
Road closed
Station Road has been closed off. An ambulance arrived on the scene, but no injuries were reported in the accident.
