Car advances against Black Lives Matter protesters in New York

A motorist hit several people today during a demonstration by the “Black Lives Matter” movement in Manhattan, New York, in the United States, but authorities have not yet specified whether it was an accident or an intentional action.

The incident caused several injuries, some of which had to be transported to various hospitals in the Big Apple, the New York Police (NYPD) explained to the France-Presse agency.

The driver of the car was arrested on the spot, according to the same source.

The police spokesman said that the incident, which took place at 4 pm local time (9 pm in Lisbon), has not resulted in any deaths so far.
