On July 24, 2023, at around 4:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man from Nierstein drove his car on the B9 from Worms in the direction of Frankenthal. At the Rheinufer 1 exit, he wanted to change from the left to the right lane and apparently lost control of his vehicle due to inappropriate speed in heavy rain and collided with the crash barrier. His car was severely damaged and had to be towed. The damage is estimated at around 10,000 euros. Nobody was harmed during the accident.
