A pickup truck cooking oil overturned after being hit by a truck from behind Suramadu bridge, East Java. As a result, the load of cooking oil was scattered on the road.
The accident occurred at around 14.30 WIB, Wednesday (9/3). At first, the pickup carrying cooking oil with the police number D-8909-XT crossed the Suramadu Bridge from Bangkalan, Madura to Surabaya.
But suddenly the pickup was hit from behind by a truck with number W-9596-NA. Trucks move by taking the right lane or fast lane.
“Then when we arrived at KM 1,600 because the road was going downhill and we were not careful, the truck hit a pickup truck Nopol D-8909-XT which was driven from behind,” said Head of Traffic Police at Tanjung Perak Port, AKP Eko Adi Wibowo.
As a result, the cooking oil loaded by the pickup was scattered and flooded the streets of the Suramadu Bridge. The flow of vehicles also had time to stagnate because motorists reduce their speed.
The truck driver, Moch Sofyan, suffered a knee injury. He was now rushed to the Muji Rahayu Hospital.
“One person, Moch Sofyan, suffered injuries to his right knee and was taken to Muji Rahayu Hospital,” he said.
Meanwhile, the driver of the pickup transporting cooking oil, Ikwanur Rifqi, was not injured. Currently there are five officers who regulate the flow of traffic, to unravel the congestion caused by the accident.
