In the night from Saturday July 29, 2023 to Sunday July 30, 2023, passers-by noticed a car in the August-Danner-Park area in Bad Krozingen, which apparently drove back and forth several times with a flat tire. The people spoke to the driver shortly after the vehicle stopped nearby.

The obviously drunk man stated that he had just driven from Umkirch to Bad Krozingen and had caused a traffic accident at an as yet unknown location. In Bad Krozingen he was also at a fast food restaurant. However, he could not remember exactly where he caused the accident. The passers-by called the police headquarters in Freiburg and reported the incident.

The arriving patrol actually found around 1:30 a.m. that the vehicle described was: a black VW Golf (first registration 2014); had fresh accident damage to the fender, the tires (flat), the driver’s door and the bumper.

The driver had meanwhile moved away from his vehicle without the communicators being able to stop the man. However, his whereabouts could be determined and he was found there.

He had a breath alcohol concentration of 0.57 mg/l in a breath alcohol test and had to have his blood drawn in a nearby clinic. This will entail further driving license measures.

In fact, it has not yet been possible to determine where the man damaged his vehicle in this way and whether there was damage to another vehicle or buildings.

The police station in Müllheim (07631 1788-0) has taken over the investigation and is asking witnesses who can provide relevant information to get in touch.
