Several motorists across the country appear to have been caught off guard by the snow and slippery roads Tuesday afternoon and evening.
Incidentally, large amounts of snow on the roads south of Oslo cause problems. All crews are at work, reports the Swedish road administration.
– Between Storebaug and Mosseporten is currently closed. There are trailer arms fixed at the site. Patrol is at the scene and tow drivers have been told to put on chains, police tweeted.
In the municipality of Frogn, there are reports of fixed points in several places, including Belsjøveien and Rundbakkene.
On the E6 between Smiehagen and Vassumkrysset in Frogn, there is a standstill along Årungen in the direction of Oslo due to a halted lorry train, according to Vegtrafikksentralen öst.
Vegtrafikksentralen has asked motorists to pay attention to the roads, especially on the E6 from Vinterbro to Rygge.
– When suddenly there’s a lot of snow in a short time, you get a completely different grip than you’re used to. We encourage people to drive according to conditions instead of driving according to the speed limit, says traffic operator Trude Lindstad at county.
Two seriously injured
Police also received a report of a traffic accident on Føya in Trøndelag shortly after 19:00. A total of five people, split between two cars, were involved in a traffic accident. The accident occurred on county road 714 in Frøya. The road is blocked and two people have been hospitalised.
The police inform Dagbladet that two people are seriously injured.
Operations director Roger Mogstad tells Dagbladet he has received a report that a person should not have been wearing a seat belt. He can’t yet tell if the person is among the injured.

In Vestby, south of Oslo, a head-on collision on Garderveien was reported just after 20:00 with damage of unknown extent. The roads in the Eastern Police Precinct are very slippery in several places.

West of Oslo, in Asker, an accident caused serious traffic problems on the E18. No one was seriously injured.

The Troms police district also reported several derailments, including several buses that ended up in the ditch.
A car must have ended up on the roof of the E6 near Siggerud, police wrote on Twitter on Tuesday evening. Another car ended up on Tofte’s roof in Asker.
The police also inform that two trailers are driving on Vevelstansveien. One lane must be blocked.

At 20.51 Innlandet Police received a traffic accident report on the E6 near Biri.
– A passenger car is on its side, according to the police.
Nordland Police report that in Mo i Rana a car went off the road and tow trucks arrived at the scene.
Vegtrafikksentralen informs that on the E6 in Mosseporten, in the direction of Oslo, access is restricted due to blocked traffic.

A yellow warning has been issued for snow from Nordfjord to Lofoten and Vesterålen, where 10-25cm of snow is expected. The state meteorologist adds that there can be large local variations.
– Nordland in particular can get up to 35cm of snow in some places.
Granerød says cold weather is expected across the country.
– The cold will last this week and beyond, says the state meteorologist.
Granerød adds that Thursday and Friday will be particularly cold this week.
– Temperatures can drop to -20 to -25 degrees in inland areas of Nordland and Trøndelag and in the mountainous areas of southern Norway.
