Captured “Wagnerian” spoke about the war in Ukraine

According to the PMC “Wagner” militant, the retreating invaders are shot on the spot. At the same time, large losses are not an obstacle to the continuation of the offensive, he said.

Captured Russians from the Wagner PMC told reporters that militants from the Russian group were suffering heavy losses, and those who retreated were shot by their own colleagues. About it informs CNN edition.

Journalists managed to ask about the fighting in Ukraine two prisoners who were sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder and recruited into Wagner from a Russian colony. According to them, they fell into Ukrainian captivity at the end of 2022 after they took part in Belogorivka, Lugansk region. In a comment to the publication, they said that out of 90 who were in their detachment, 60 were killed under artillery fire. At the same time, as the prisoners say, heavy losses did not become an obstacle to the continuation of their offensive.

“If one of the groups does not succeed, the next one goes forward. If it fails, a third is sent forward,” the prisoners say.

In addition, according to the prisoners, if the militants retreat without completing the task, they are shot on the spot. One of the interviewees told how a PMC fighter who refused to go on the attack was forced to dig his own grave. At the same time, the interlocutors of the publication stated that the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield is not provided – they are forced to leave their positions on their own.

The captives said that recruitment in their colony was carried out personally by the founder of PMC “Wagner” Yevgeny Prigozhin, promising a pardon and removal of a criminal record after six months of fighting, as well as monetary rewards and payment of loans.

Also, according to CNN interlocutors, they were told that they would fight mercenaries from Western countries, in particular Poland and Germany, since the Ukrainian army allegedly fled.

“I think it was the wrong choice (to go to war in Ukraine)… I have never participated in any military operations, especially in battles against the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which refuse to give up their land. They brought us here under the wrong pretext. And so we we are fighting, but I don’t think it’s a fair thing,” said one of the prisoners.

Recall that the President of the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, said that Serbia could prepare a hybrid attack on them with the help of Wagner PMCs in order to seize territory.

We also wrote that, according to human rights activists, up to 200 Serbian mercenaries can fight for the Wagner PMC in Ukraine.
