Capture One Pro 23 image editing

Danish Capture One Pro is a great alternative to Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, with a clear interface and advanced image editing features. Now Capture One Pro 23 is out, just over six months after the launch of Capture One Pro 22.

The interface is easy to recognize for advanced Capture One users, but the latest version has more features and an improved workflow.

Smart adjustments should reduce editing time, the photographer can select and group multiple images at a time, and you can add color gradation in multiple layers when working with styles (Styles).

In the Smart Adjustments tool palette, you can select adjustments for one of the images in an album and save the changes as a reference for that particular adjustment, which you can then apply to multiple images at once.

For example, wedding photographers can select a favorite white balance and exposure, which can be applied to any portrait with a white dress and a black dress, and then edit an entire album in just a few clicks.

Smart adjustments adapt to the photographer’s favorite choices and only take into account the same adjustments the photographer has chosen. For example, the white dress and skin tone adjustments and thus do not touch the background in the image.

When you import photos from folders, it’s easier to group photos by similarity: Group overview and photos you import from photo folders or directly from the camera after photos have been taken appear on the screen much faster than before.

The photographer can also change the shooting date and time of photos from multiple cameras where the date and time are not synchronized. Similar images with different settings can be dragged to different albums, so you can, for example, have a variant of all the black and white photos in the same album, without other variants automatically ending up in the same album.

Capture One Live, which lets you share photos and folders with others, is also available in a free version.
