Captain America is, or was, one of the mainstays of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Interpreted by Chris Evans On the big screen, this character is characterized as the leader of the Avengers and, in combat, uses a shield as his main weapon. Instead of using an offensive item, Steve Rogers chooses to first protect and then fight back. One of the main features of his shield is that it can ricochet and always return to the arm of Captain America. That is, it returns from the starting point from which it was launched. However, a volume of Venomverse has changed that and upgraded the shield, making it infinitely better.
One shield to rule them all
Captain Marvel stars in this story, Venomverse: War Stories #1, in which she becomes, shall we say, the heiress of Captain America. He combines his classic suit with that of Steve Rogers and can use the shield just like the leader of the Avengers in the Thanos era. Now, Carol Danvers adds a couple of improvements that make the shield a completely different weapon, and much more deadly. With his Kree power, he makes the shield appear like Thor’s Mjlnir.. Wherever you are, you can call your shield and it will appear. Using the phrase: “To me, my shield“.
As you can see, this new evolution of Captain America’s weapons is carried out opposite Rocket wholly owned by Venom. The combat has no major significance and is not important at this time. What counts here is that in an alternative universe there is a Captain Marvel who assumes the role of Steve Rogers and also improves the shield. Marvel Studios should take a closer look at these stories that are not part of the main universe for their feature films, since something like that would certainly make the audience clap their hands at the sight of Brie Larson in action with these features. For now it will simply remain as an anecdote seen in the comics, but what a gift.
