Captain Kirk of Star Trek will fly into space. “It’s a miracle,” says actor Shatner

Captain Kirk from Star Trek, or actor William Shatner, who played him in the series of the same name, will fly into space this month. This was announced by Jeff Bezos’s Blue Origin company, with which the actor will go beyond space on October 12. The launch vehicle with the module takes off from West Texas.

At the age of 90, Shatner will become the oldest man in the universe. He joins three other people on board the Blue Origin module. Two of them will be paying customers. The last of the passengers is a Blue Origin employee. It will be the second start of this company’s manned machine.

Jeff Bezos took part in his debut flight in July, which was exceptional, among other things, in that he suddenly broke the records of the oldest and youngest man in space. His brother Mark and 82-year-old aviation pioneer Wally Funk and 18-year-old Oliver Daemen flew with Bezos.

“I’ve heard something about the universe before. I’m taking the opportunity to see for myself. It’s a miracle,” Shatner said in a statement.

The flight will take ten minutes, the module with travelers will climb to a height of 106 kilometers. The height of the universe is generally considered to be 100 kilometers above the Earth’s surface.
