The death of Frank Labois had moved the whole country in January 2020. It was in Bron that this policeman was voluntarily mowed down by a van on the night of January 10 to 11, at the exit of the Laurent-Bonnevay ring road overlooking the Genas road. And this, while he was performing an operation with his colleagues. The 45-year-old died of his injuries two days later on January 13.

The driver, Farès Djelassi, a 24-year-old Vaudois, was sentenced in November 2022 to thirty years in prison.
A street located next to the scene of the tragedy
Three and a half years after the events, the municipality of Bron decided to honor the memory of the official by giving his name to a thoroughfare. The road on which he was hit ran along the future district of La Clairière, then under construction.
The 16-hectare site being well advanced, new roads are emerging and one of them has been chosen to bear the name of Captain Frank Labois. It will go from rue Nicole-Girard-Mangin to rue Berty-Albrecht, perpendicular to the current rue Charles-Boeuf.
