Captain and coaching team extend to applause from 400 sponsors and partners
Last weekend was a real highlight for the green and white team! The DHfK handball team won the Saxony Cup 2024playmaker Luca Witzke secured the German national team the Silver medal at the Olympic Games in Paris and SC DHfK Leipzig, together with 400 guests, got ready for a very special season!
SC DHfK Leipzig is starting its tenth season in the strongest league in the world. In order to Anniversary season To celebrate appropriately, the club invited partners and sponsors to the Team presentation in the Alte Wollkämmerei invited. Managing Director Karsten Günther reviewed the highs and lows of Leipzig’s Bundesliga history so far and gave insights into the sporting and economic challenges of the upcoming season.
Also HBL Managing Director Frank Bohmann had accepted the invitation to Leipzig and spoke about the future visions of the Handball Bundesliga, the promotion of young talent in handball and the great performance of the national team in Paris. The guests also listened with great interest to the statements of the Member of Parliament Dirk Panter for the planned expansion of the QUARTERBACK Immobilien ARENA and the construction of an additional ball sports hall.
Contract extensions as the highlight of the evening
In addition to the already spectacular topics of conversation, SC DHfK had two very special surprises in store. When the new DHfK team entered the stage, the contract extensions of Captain Lukas Binder (until 2026) and the Trainerteams Rúnar Sigtryggsson & Milos Putera (until 2027) announced. A roaring infestation echoed through the Old Wool Combing Mill.
“SC DHfK Leipzig is simply my club. It was my first Bundesliga club and will probably be my last. I am now entering my 16th season here and after all this time it still feels great to be playing in the ARENA and for this club. I am really looking forward to at least two more years,” said captain Lukas Binder.
Handball Day on 24 August
After the team presentation for the sponsors, the new team will of course also be presented to the fans.
