The newcomer of The Boys is Little Soldier, Captain America parody, and he showed off his costume in a series of photos.
For its part, Netflix’s big red N struggles with superheroes whatsoever with Marvel’s bland adaptations such as Iron Fist or Jessica Jones, or other comics like Jupiter’s Legacy which will not point out the end of its cape for a season 2. The same goes for Disney + which, between WandaVision, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and soon Loki, don’t smash the hut. On the other side of the ring, Amazon Prime Video makes profitable and modernizes the superhero with the animation for Invincible but especially with the hyperviolent serial blockbuster: The Boys.
After two successful seasons, the world’s worst superheroes are back for a season 3 with some new ones on the team. This will be the case in particular for Little Soldier (or Soldier Boy in their original version) in a well-rounded version of Marvel’s white knight, Captain America. After unveiling a photo playing on the comparison, the new superman of The Boys shows off her full costume in two photos.
A Steve Roger who is not afraid of swear words
Eric Kripke’s series is back and the showrunner has called on an old acquaintance to play his Captain America pastiche. This is indeed Jensen Ackles straight out of Supernatural, also created by Eric Kripke, who will lend his features to the hero made from scratch by Vought to arm themselves against the Nazis. If Ackles has already changed physically for his role, we now have the pleasure of seeing him in his costume.
A costume far enough from the starry banner effect of the comic book character straight out of Captain America with a dark green tone that gives it a Navy SEAL look. But series costume designer Laura Jean Shannon has described her intentions for Variety :
“Our goal was to showcase a bygone era of masculinity and brutality. With this pedigree, we dove head first into crafting a truly American quality outfit, grounded in the practicality of ‘a military soldier with a heavy dose of old-school cowboy arrogance. We knew the actor had to look and have the skills of Steve McQueen with a John Wayne attitude – luckily Jensen Ackles embodies it all. that”.
At the machine, the blood goes better on the green
A modern cowboy for Little Soldier who fought the Nazis with Stromfront (beware of spoilers), turned into a grilled merguez at the end of season 2. But in civilian life, actress Aya Cash’s contract did not been renewed for season 3. Are we going to miss a reunion at the top? In any case, costume close to the comics or not, Petit Soldat risks come and put a spades in the wheels to the other weirdo of the troop, The Protector (or Homelander in VO). A bloody duel of titans is therefore looming on the horizon.
