Captain America 4: A former enemy of Steve Rogers back in the sequel?

In Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson had to face Batroc, an antagonist who had previously fought against Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The latter is not the only former enemy of the previous leader of the Avengers who could cause concern to Sam. Captain America Civil War has indeed signed the arrival of Crossbones, a villain played by Frank Grillo and subscribers absent since this last appearance in the MCU. The actor is nonetheless convinced that his character still has a place in the Marvel universe, and that there are chances that he will reappear in future projects.

“I think Crossbones is a secondary antagonist in this universe. I think you’ll see him pop up here and there. I believe tomorrow you’ll see Crossbones in the What If …? Animated series. The character of Crossbones could thus remain in the animated world of What If…?, which let’s remember is part of the MCU, or surprise by an appearance in one of the future films in project, as for example Captain America 4, in which Sam Wilson, still played by Anthony Mackie, will fully assume the new role entrusted to him. For example, he could be part of the team currently recruited by Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, or want revenge on the new Captain America, whom he once faced when still wearing the pseudonym Falcon. The opportunities are certainly not lacking, it remains to be seen whether Marvel Studios prefers to leave the character aside or not, now that a new phase has begun.
