Initially, Christopher Markus, co-screenwriter of Captain America, the Winter Soldier, wanted the antagonist of this second part to be MODOK (for “Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing”). Another supervillain from the Marvel universe known for being the scientist responsible for the creation of the cosmic cube at the heart of the first film, and whose head has taken on disproportionate proportions.
It is finally the return of the Winter Soldier, played on screen by Sebastian Stan, who was chosen to be the main villain of the feature film. But the famous MODOK has not however been thrown into superheroic oblivion.

In May 2021, Marvel’s MODOK, an animated series dedicated to the emblematic bad-guy endowed with superior intelligence and boundless cruelty, is indeed born.
