The former governor of the state of Miranda Henrique Capriles launched this Friday, March 10, his candidacy for the opposition primaries on October 22, ahead of the 2024 presidential elections, during a proclamation act organized by his party, Primero Justicia (PJ).
Supported by PJ executives and militants, the 50-year-old politician thanked the support of his formation, which proposed him for the contest after an internal consultation in which former deputy Juan Pablo Guanipa and former mayor Carlos Ocariz, both present at the event, also participated. the act, in which they ratified their support for the two-time presidential candidate.
Capriles pointed out that he will visit all the states to promote the “cause of Venezuela” not his candidacy. He explained that Venezuela does not belong to those who govern it, but to the citizens.
“We are not going to change to a “plugged in of one color for another (…) we are fighting against those who turned Miraflores into their personal palace, who mocks the workers and pensioners.” he commented she.
On Capriles weighs a disqualification that prevents him from holding positions in public power, an obstacle that the National Commission of Primaries (CNP) hopes will be resolved through the negotiation table between Chavismo and the opposition, in case the former governor or another disqualified leader is chosen in October.
