Cape Verde announces death of Portuguese coach

The Cape Verde federation announced the death of Ricardo Leite, goalkeeper coach of that team. The 37-year-old Portuguese coach went through the formation of Sporting and Benfica, as well as Vitória de Guimarães and died in Lisbon.

Here is the statement from Cape Verde:

«It was with deep sadness and pain that the Cabo Verdean Football Federation became aware of the physical passing of Ricardo Leite, a member of the AA National Team’s technical team, who, before joining the technical team, was in charge of two teams of goalkeeper in Cape Verde. Ricardo Leite died today in Lisbon.

Ricardo Leite, Master’s student in sports training, football specialization, degree in sports, specialist in goalkeeper training, in addition to having a UEFA B coach course – Grade II, UEFA Goalkeeper Coach Course UEFA B.

Coach Ricardo Leite, on his resume, includes goalkeeper coach for U-17, U-19 of Sporting Clube de Portugal, the same levels and, also, U-23, at Benfica, having been, in the 2019/ 2020, goalkeeper coach in Vitória de Guimarães’s first team.

Last March, Ricardo Leite joined the technical team as goalkeeper coach for ‘Tubarões Azuis’.

The Cape Verdean Football Federation addresses to the bereaved family, its most heartfelt condolences for the irreparable loss and wishes that the soul of the failed one be received in the heavenly kingdom and have an eternal rest!
