Capcom passes 100 games milestone with over 1 million copies

Capcom’s “Platinum Titles” list continues to grow. More than 100 titles are part of it, including several episodes of the Resident Evil series.

Among the new arrivals, we can mention Resident Evil 3 Remake, which reaches 2.7 million copies distributed. A nice score, but which does not manage to exceed that established by the remake of Resident Evil 2.

The best-selling game in the franchise remains Resident Evil 7 Biohazard, with 7.9 million copies sold, both on Xbox One, PC and PS4, in physical and dematerialized version.

As for the best-selling game in Capcom’s history, it’s Monster Hunter: World, a game released for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC in 2018, which has attracted 16.1 million players.

The rest of the top 10 is made up of:

  1. Resident Evil 7 Biohazard (7.9 million units)
  2. Resident Evil 5 (7.7 million units)
  3. Resident Evil 6 (7.6 million units)
  4. Resident Evil 2 Remake (7.2 million units)
  5. Street Fighter II (6.3 million units)
  6. Monster Hunter World: Iceborne (5.8 million units)
  7. Resident Evil 2 (the 1998 original, 4.96 million units)
  8. Monster Hunter Freedom 3 (4.9 million units)
  9. Street Fighter V (4.7 million units)

The full ranking is to find at this address. Next big step for Capcom: the release of the highly anticipated Resident Evil Village, expected in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and PC.
