Capcom Faces Backlash for Adding Suspicious DRM Protection to Old Games – Fans React and Force Withdrawal

In recent days, the fact that the Japanese publisher quite suddenly added DRM protection to its old games – supposedly to combat mods – has made a great stir among fans of Capcom and horror games.

However, as it turned out, the installed technology was a DRM Enigma application from a very suspicious company from Russia, infected with viruses and probably full of spy scripts. And as we all know, if something is quite suspicious, especially from the Russian Federation, we have a guarantee that it really may be something bad. It didn’t take long for the fans to react.

The flood of negative reviews and complaints about numerous alarms from antivirus applications forced Capcom to withdraw this decision and a very dangerous update to Resident Evil: Revelations, which, by the way, is already over 10 years old, was withdrawn. Unfortunately, the explanations and apologies are quite laconic.
