“Capcom Adds Microtransactions to ‘Resident Evil 4’ Remake to Upgrade Weapons Faster”

Fans of the iconic game series, “Resident Evil,” have been eagerly anticipating the upcoming remake of “Resident Evil 4.” However, recent news has surfaced that the remake will come with an unexpected addition – microtransactions. This has caused a stir in the gaming community, with some expressing disappointment and frustration at the inclusion of the controversial feature. In this article, we take a closer look at what these microtransactions mean for the game and its players.

Capcom

Capcom’s “Resident Evil 4” remake has garnered rave reviews and strong sales since its release. And now, after a few weeks on the market, the company has added microtransactions to the game in an effort to further monetize the title.

Players can now pay extra to upgrade their weapons more quickly. Along with the addition of microtransactions, Capcom also introduced a free Mercenaries mode DLC and eleven new paid DLCs titled “Exclusive Upgrade Tickets.” Each ticket can be redeemed at the Merchant’s shop for speedy upgrades to weapons. Normally, weapons need to be maxed out before purchasing the exclusive upgrade.

Purchasing one of these tickets from the Merchant grants immediate access to a weapon’s exclusive upgrade and is free of charge; in-game, it typically costs between 60,000-100,000 pesetas. Each ticket costs $2.99, but there are discounts available for multipacks of three or five tickets. VGC estimated that players who choose to buy everything would get 23 upgrade tickets for a total cost of $55.89.

Surprisingly, there was no indication from Capcom prior to release that microtransactions would be added to the game despite its successful sales record which boasts four million copies sold across all platforms in its first two weeks.

Regardless, the remake of “Resident Evil 4” promises to deliver a thrilling and engaging gaming experience that will undoubtedly be enjoyed by both old and new fans alike.
